A Pet's Life.

Updated: May 28, 2019

We had an amazing dog sitter this week. A high school girl, passionate about animals, but especially dogs. She took her responsibility seriously, going above and beyond what we asked of her. She came over 4+ times a day to feed them, play with them, and love on them, staying for hours at a time. She did such a good job, that we joked that we should hire her even when we're home. She was " just happy to help" and didn't want to be paid. You see, we aren't the world's best dog owners (another fish died while we were away 😳).We take them to the vet every year, but forget their heartworm meds all the time. We take them on walks, but not as often as we should. They are (kinda) trained, but have selective hearing like our kids. They chew things, swallow things, poop out socks, eat a ton, and have horrible, room clearing gas. But these dogs are incredibly sweet, loving, gentle and are a part of our family and our chaos. Animals teach kids loyalty, responsibility, compassion, and patience. They're always happy to see you, and don't hold grudges, ask questions, or pass judgement.
