Get Up. Show Up.

I was tired this morning. My kids were tired this morning. Nobody wanted to get up, in fact Finn asked if they could have nap time at school. They had a long weekend, probably stayed up too late talking in their beds last night, and the time change didn't help. We all could have slept in, missed the bus, and been tardy to school, but we didn't. They were grumpy as I tossed a granola bar at them for breakfast, and ridiculously slow to get their shoes on. They complained it was too early, they didn't feel good, their legs didn't work, and they weren't brushing their teeth. I get it, I feel the same way, but that's life. You have to get up, you have to go to school, and yes, you have to take the bus. School is your job. You may not always like your job, you may not always want to go to work, you may not always feel 100%, but you have to show up. At 7:48a the bus came, and everyone piled on and waved out the window. Teaching kids to show up makes better humans, better friends, better spouses, better teammates, better employees, better leaders. So show up for work, show up for your friend, show up for your family, show up for your team. Get up, get yourself a coffee and get on with, you've got a job to do
